Surrender

 

 

I had a plan, as my own man,

to live out every dream

I had desires, ambitions too

laid smooth without a seam!

 

This life is mine for me to live

to do just as I please

I'll live for self and gain great wealth

to live my life in ease!

 

But then I heard a still small voice

reminding of a debt

My life was His, He'd paid in full

my life's plans He had set...

 

I feared He'd not be good as I

at planning out my years

But then He said some things to me

that helped remove my fears:

 

"I am God - The Only God -

Creator of all you see

Before the world or life began

all there was was Me!

 

You could trust yourself in this -

the end regret and pain -

but if you trust to me your life

You'll only ever gain!

 

And don't forget, though the choice is yours,

I bought you on the tree -

And truly, it's just a fair exchange

Surrendering all to me!"
